Gender Reveal

This is how we told our families that we are expecting a GIRL!! We had our parents, siblings, and grandparents come over so that we could tell everyone at the same time. We decided to make it a little more fun by asking everyone to wear their "team colors" so that we could see what everyone thought the little bug was going to be. It was overwhelmingly "Team Cooper" with just a few of us on "Team Sophia." I had everyone bite into a cupcake at the same time to reveal the color of icing inside. Of course, it was filled with pink! Team Sophia wins! We are beyond thrilled to be expecting little Sophia Faith on June 22, 2010! I know she is going to be one spoiled little girl! Is there any other way to be?! We are so appreciative of our families for coming over to our small house and participating in the reveal...it will be something we cherish forever! I'll leave you with a few pictures of the party....

*Team Cooper* (minus Josh..he went to get the cars...I'm having a hard time adding him to the picture..sorry Josh!)

*Team Sophia* Not very many of us!! We win!!!

Lots of catching up to do!

Well, I was going to delete this blog and start a new one, but I've decided to add to this one in order to remember where we came from. The last post was made Oct. 5 I believe....and it was mostly about seeing a fertility specialist and the frustrations I was feeling with the whole process. Wellllll, little did I know, I was actually pregnant! We found out Oct. 14th that I was pregnant! It was a complete shock! We did several weeks of follow-up with Tulsa Fertility Clinic to make sure this pregnancy was progressing normally and we were thrilled to see that everything looked perfect!

We already had our follow-up appointment with TFC scheduled for Oct. 26th, but we saw our regular OB/GYN until then. It turns out that Dr. Prough w/TFC found out several things that contributed to the 4 miscarriages that we had in 2.5 years of trying. I have endometriosis, PCOS, an insulin resistance, MTHFR, and a phospholipidantibody syndrome. Whew! What a list! The endo and PCOS caused the long process and the other things contributed to my body miscarrying. I immediately began a daily regimen of Progesterone, baby aspirin, 3 folic acid pills, 2 prenatals, and Metformin. We are so incredibly blessed to finally be where we are today! We are expecting our little miracle around June 24, 2010!

I will write some follow-up posts to share how we told family and work, appointments, and weekly updates....I don't want to overwhelm my invisible readers all at once! ha!

Here is our 2nd ultrasoun picture...we had one done at 5 weeks and saw a little "blip" as Jeff called it, but we were able to hear the incredible sound of a heartbeat! I'll upload that one too if I can find it! This picture is from 7 weeks 2 days....God's work truly is amazing!
